Ashley is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in Kelowna, BC providing counselling in-person, online, or by phone. She provides counselling to children over 5 years, adults and families. Ashley’s experience includes, but is not limited to ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, undiagnosed behavioral difficulties, and trauma.
Her approach to counselling is to meet you where you are at, and to provide guidance, insight, and the skills to help you help yourself. She helps people identify unhelpful thought patterns and teaches her clients how to challenge their negative thoughts. She stresses the importance of taking care of yourself on a daily basis and engaging in self-care. She helps adults struggling with mental health issues, navigating life transitions and relationship issues, providing them with healthy coping tools to manage day to day stressors. She incorporates mindfulness-based approaches and somatic awareness into her sessions. Ashley is very warm, open-minded, and her counselling services offer a calming and comfortable environment for her clients.
Ashley specializes in working with children and teens who exhibit moderate to severe mental health disorders and those who are neurodiverse. When it comes to working with this population, Ashley approaches issues by considering the family as whole. This means working with families to provide psychoeducation, therapy, and support. For children, teens, and families, she provides a welcoming and safe environment with their treatment.
Ashley has worked with clients from the Ministry of Child and Family Development, Child Advocacy Centre, Crime Victim Assistance Programs, ICBC, Autism Funding, Employee Assistance Programs, and First Nations Health Authority.
